Semarang – On Thursday, October 2nd 2025, SMA Negeri 3 Semarang had the privilege to welcome a native speaker from Ruangguru team for an engaging English session and educational insight. The school welcomed a native speaker who interacted directly with students, and also the Ruangguru team introduced their digital learning platform and English Academy. The event, held in the school, was attended enthusiastically by students and teachers.

English Fun & Learning

The visit of native speaker, Mr. Talat from Tajikistan has became a memorable experience for the students attended. They were invited to speak, ask questions, and explore words in English, pushing the students to try and improve their grammar and pronounciation.

To start the day, the Ruangguru team prepared a CEFR test for the students to help measure their English level and gave them a clearer picture of their current abilities, and after taking the CEFR test, the session goes on followed by interactive quizzes and small games to warm up.

Later on, after the opening session ends and the students were hyped enough, they had the chance to interact directly with the native speaker, Mr. Talat. Many students felt nervous and excited at the same time, but Mr. Talat reassure them and encouraged the students to speak in English through simple questions such as self-introductions, hobbies, favorite subjects, and their favorite games.

Insight With Mr. Talat

During the session, Mr. Talat had taught us so many things. Some fun-facts about English language is:

  1. There’s approximately 1.5 billion speakers around the world.
  2. The longest English word is known as “pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis”.

He also shows us a video about Father and Daughter interaction, showing how important it is to show love and respect for our parents. Afterwards, he also taught us the importance of education. “In this world, nothing is more important than education.” Said Mr. Talat.

He didn’t stop there — in his interview, he also shared a meaningful message for students around Indonesia: “Never be afraid to ask questions, never be afraid to think deeply, to question, and critize things. I think this is the only thing that moves us as a human being.”

In the interview, not only the students who had fun, Mr. Talat also felt delighted, seeing the students respond to him with enthusiasm, “This was by far one of the best audiences I had, because usually when I do workshops and seminars its important that the audiences are very engaged and interactive. And today it was very beautiful to see a lot of the students were ready to interact and engage nicely.” Said Mr. Talat in his interview with our team.

This event successfully taught students with few important lessons: the courage to use English in real-life situations, learn about cultural differences, to be brave to take action and believe in yourself. Students at SMA Negeri 3 Semarang were not only inspired but also encouraged to keep growing, learning, and adapting more challenges coming for the future.

Hopefully, more similar events that will be held in the future will courage students more to improve their language skill, and find motivations to study. May this spirit of learning stay alive among the students.
